Police Arrest 2 Suspected Kidnappers in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities within the Sarau Belel community.

Complaint Leads to Swift Police Action

The operation was initiated following a formal complaint received by the police on December 26, 2025. The complainant, Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village, reported that he had been threatened with abduction by two persons.

According to the police, the suspects allegedly claimed responsibility for the earlier kidnapping of Emmanuel's younger brother, Joshua Daniel, who was abducted in November 2024.

Coordinated Operation and Arrests

Upon receiving the complaint, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Dankombo Morris, ordered immediate action. He directed the Divisional Police Officer in Sarau Belel and other operatives to conduct a coordinated operation.

This directive led to the arrest of the two suspects. They have been identified as Sunday Yakubu, 36, and Daniel Yakubu, 38. Both men are residents of Konjoli Village in Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Suspects Confess, Case Transferred for Prosecution

Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the allegations leveled against them. He stated that they are currently providing useful information to aid the command's investigation.

To ensure a thorough and diligent legal process, Commissioner Morris has ordered the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case. The unit is tasked with conducting a comprehensive investigation and ensuring prosecution in accordance with the law.

The police command has reassured residents of Adamawa of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state. They have also urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support security operations.
