Neutralisation of Top Boko Haram Commander

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, troops engaged suspected Boko Haram fighters in an ambush along the Visik River line. This tactical operation resulted in the neutralisation of one terrorist, identified as Abdullahi Mafa, who was previously a hybrid commander operating in the Madagali region. His elimination marks a critical blow to the terrorist group's leadership structure in the area.

Arrest of Suspected Drone Supplier

In a subsequent raid conducted around 6:30 p.m. at Madagali Motor Park, the troops apprehended 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, a suspected Boko Haram collaborator and drone supplier. This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts to disrupt the group's supply chains and technological capabilities.

Recovered Items and Investigation

Items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks, which are believed to be used for logistical support and surveillance activities by the terrorist group.
