NAF Air Strikes Destroy IED Hub, Neutralise Bandits in Zamfara
NAF Destroys Bandit IED Hub in Zamfara Air Strikes

The Nigerian Air Force has announced a significant victory in its ongoing campaign against armed bandits in the North-West region. In a decisive move, NAF aircraft executed two precision air strikes on December 28, 2025, targeting key bandit locations in Zamfara State.

Precision Strikes Target Bandit Strongholds

According to an official statement released on Monday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, the operations were conducted by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, Sector 2. The missions were launched based on credible intelligence gathered from multiple sources.

The first aerial assault was directed at Turba Hill, a confirmed hideout for bandits within Tsafe Local Government Area. Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions had identified significant human activity and a central zinc-roofed structure at the site. The precision strike successfully demolished the structure and neutralised several bandits operating from the location.

Destruction of Notorious IED Manufacturing Camp

The second and perhaps more critical strike focused on a camp known as Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, also in Tsafe LGA. This location was described as a notorious stronghold and a primary hub for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Intelligence reports had linked the camp to recent IED attacks along the dangerous Dan Sadau–Magami axis. The Nigerian Air Force's intervention led to the destruction of multiple structures at the camp, severely degrading the bandit group's capacity to manufacture and deploy these explosive devices against security forces and civilians.

A Major Blow to Bandit Operations

These coordinated air interdiction missions represent a major tactical success in the sustained military offensive against armed banditry in Zamfara and neighbouring states. By destroying a key IED production facility, the NAF has disrupted a critical part of the bandits' supply chain for weapons and explosives.

The operations underscore the continued reliance on air power as part of a multi-pronged strategy to restore security in the region. The use of precision strikes, guided by credible intelligence, aims to minimise collateral damage while maximising impact on criminal elements.

The Nigerian Air Force has reiterated its commitment to supporting ground troops and other security agencies in the fight to dismantle terrorist and bandit networks across the country.
