NSCDC Deploys 956 Personnel Across Delta State for Easter Security Operations
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Delta State has mobilized a significant force of 956 personnel to ensure a safe and secure Easter celebration throughout the state. This deployment is part of a comprehensive security strategy aimed at preventing criminal activities and maintaining public order during the holiday period.
Strategic Deployment to Black Spots and Flashpoints
State Commandant Igbo Chinedu announced the deployment as a swift response initiative, specifically targeting identified black spots and flashpoints across Delta. The personnel have been assigned to secure public spaces, critical infrastructure, and communities that have historically experienced surges in criminal incidents during festive seasons. This proactive approach is designed to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to residents.
Emphasis on Professionalism and Operational Discipline
In a pre-deployment address to officers, Commandant Chinedu underscored the importance of professionalism and operational discipline. He urged personnel to move beyond routine patrols by integrating intelligence gathering with proactive actions to address security challenges effectively. This directive aims to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of the security operations during the Easter period.
Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure
Chinedu further charged officers to prioritize the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, a core mandate of the NSCDC. This focus is particularly crucial in Delta State, where oil facilities and public utilities are frequent targets of vandalism and sabotage. By safeguarding these assets, the Corps aims to prevent disruptions to essential services and economic activities during the celebration.
Inter-Agency Collaboration and Public Assurance
The Commandant expressed confidence in the Corps' preparedness and assured residents of a crime-free Easter celebration. He highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration, noting that NSCDC personnel would work in synergy with other security outfits to enhance overall security coverage. Chinedu reassured residents to celebrate without fear, emphasizing that all identified hot spots are fully manned by NSCDC personnel to ensure maximum security and peace of mind.
