Troops Reunite Missing Toddler with Family in Plateau

Troops from Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace have successfully reunited a missing two-year-old child with his family in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Child Found Wandering Alone

The child, identified as Nelson Patrick, was intercepted at approximately 9:20 p.m. on May 26, 2026, by troops stationed at the Latya checkpoint in Jos South. According to security sources, the toddler was found loitering without any guardian or supervision.

Investigation and Family Reunion

A preliminary investigation, conducted with the assistance of local residents, revealed that the child had left his family home in Du village, Jos South Local Government Area, and wandered to an unknown destination. After locating his family, the child was handed over to his mother, Mrs. Deborah Patrick, in the presence of the village head and other family members.

Continued Security Operations

The security sources further stated that troops continue to conduct routine patrols across the Joint Operations Area to safeguard schools, critical national infrastructure, and other public facilities.
