The deceased have been identified as Hajjagana Dahiru Zayi, Ibrahim Dahiru Zayi, Muhammad Dahiru Zayi, Hauwa Dahiru Zayi, and another family member. According to a relative, Dahiru Musa Talba, who confirmed the tragedy in a Facebook post, three other relatives sustained varying degrees of injuries in the crash.
Talba reported that the injured victims were promptly rushed to the General Hospital in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. The swift response aimed to stabilize their conditions following the harrowing event.

The spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, officially confirmed the accident. He stated that five persons were confirmed dead, while others sustained injuries. Abdulkarim emphasized that an investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.
