Cause of the Crash

Akinbiyi attributed the accident to reckless driving by the motorcyclist. He explained that the rider attempted a U-turn without properly checking for oncoming traffic, leading to a direct collision with the truck. This highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and adherence to traffic regulations on major expressways in Nigeria.

Aftermath and Investigation

The victim was transported to a general hospital, where a doctor confirmed his death. His body was subsequently deposited at the General Hospital mortuary in Ijebu Ode for further procedures. Meanwhile, the vehicles involved in the crash were cleared from the road to restore traffic flow and taken to the Odogbolu Police Division for a thorough investigation.

This incident underscores the critical need for enhanced road safety measures and public awareness campaigns to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Authorities continue to urge all road users to exercise caution and follow traffic laws diligently.
