Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has publicly expressed his condolences and provided a crucial update following a tragic road accident involving former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua.

The incident occurred near Sagamu in Ogun State along the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The governor described the event as a tragic accident where the vehicle carrying Joshua and his team collided with a stationary truck. "On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, I extend my deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased. I pray that God grants them the strength to bear this painful loss," Sanwo-Olu stated.

Providing reassurance to the public, Governor Sanwo-Olu gave a positive update on the health of Anthony Joshua and another injured passenger. He confirmed that both individuals were swiftly evacuated from the crash scene to a specialised medical facility in Lagos for urgent attention.
