The 25-year-old Ukrainian has been sidelined since December 2024 after a failed drugs test involving meldonium during international duty. Mudryk's legal team has taken the case to CAS, filing an appeal on February 25, 2026. Written submissions have been exchanged, but no hearing date has been set. Reporter Ben Jacobs indicated that Mudryk has received the maximum four-year sanction, though any final ruling is expected to account for time already served under suspension. Mudryk's camp maintains his innocence, insisting he has not knowingly breached any anti-doping rules.
Current Training Arrangements
Since his suspension, Mudryk has been training individually at non-league side Uxbridge to maintain fitness, away from Chelsea's first-team environment. Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk for around £62 million, signing a contract until 2030 with an option for an additional year.
