Nigeria's U-20 Women's national team, the Falconets, will discover their opponents for the Poland 2026 FIFA U-20 World Cup when the official draw ceremony takes place on Friday. The event will be held at the EC1 Cultural Centre in the city of Łódź, Poland.
Falconets' Head Coach Moses Aduku and Team Administrator Kelechi Omeke will represent Nigeria at the draw. Nigeria, along with Benin Republic, Ghana, and Tanzania, qualified as Africa's representatives for the 24-nation tournament, scheduled to run from November 5 to 27 across Polish cities including Łódź, Katowice, Sosnowiec, and Bielsko-Biała.
All qualified teams have been placed into four pots of six teams each. From these pots, six groups of four teams will be formed. The Poland 2026 edition features six debutants: hosts Poland, Portugal, New Caledonia, Ecuador, Tanzania, and Benin Republic. Notably, Germany, who defeated Nigeria in the 2010 and 2014 finals, will be absent for the first time.
Europe will be represented by Poland, France, Italy, England, Portugal, and Spain. Asia's representatives are China, South Korea, Japan, and North Korea. North and Central America will have Mexico, USA, and Costa Rica. South America sends Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, and Colombia. Oceania is represented by New Zealand and New Caledonia.
The Falconets, ever-present at the competition, are placed in Pot 2 alongside USA, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and New Zealand. Ghana, making their eighth appearance, is in Pot 3 with South Korea, England, Argentina, China, and Italy. Pot 1 contains Poland, Japan, Spain, North Korea, Brazil, and France. Pot 4 includes Portugal, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Benin Republic, Tanzania, and New Caledonia.
