An eyewitness to the tragic accident involving heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has provided a chilling account of the boxer's immediate reaction upon realizing his friends had died.

The incident, which occurred on December 29, claimed the lives of Joshua's personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and his coach, Sina Ghami. Anthony Joshua and his driver survived the crash and were hospitalized before being discharged.
In a video shared by Sky News, the eyewitness, Ajala Yusuf, described hearing a loud "boom" sound. Initially, he and others thought it was a truck tyre bursting. They then saw a car drive under a parked truck on the highway and rushed to the scene.
Joshua's Reaction to the Devastation
Yusuf detailed the boxer's state upon grasping the tragedy. "He was shocked immediately he saw what had happened. He couldn't talk," the witness stated, painting a picture of a man rendered speechless by grief and trauma.
The eyewitness statement has sparked significant reactions online, with Nigerians expressing sympathy for Joshua and raising questions about the circumstances of the crash.
Public Reaction and Lingering Questions
Many social media comments focused on the parked truck and the driver's role. User NOBLE Wheelz commented: "Talk about the TRUCK! If the truck wasn’t parked there, he’d probably have gone off road and come back to the main road."
Others, like Joshu, questioned: "Why was an abandoned truck parked in the highway. I hear for weeks. This is embarrassing." Concerns were also raised about the driver's condition and the internal injuries survivors might have sustained.
