The club confirmed the young athlete was caught in the inferno and suffered serious burns. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was airlifted by helicopter to a specialized hospital in Germany for urgent treatment.

Swiss officials explained the fire spread with catastrophic speed. Flames quickly reached the ceiling, causing a "flashover" event that ignited almost all combustible materials in the basement simultaneously.
