Premier League side Fulham have intensified their pursuit of Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu by submitting an improved offer after their initial bid was rejected by Turkish club Trabzonspor. According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Fulham's first offer of €15 million was turned down, prompting the London club to return with an increased €20 million bid for the centre-back.
Trabzonspor Holding Out for Higher Fee
Trabzonspor are reportedly open to selling the 22-year-old but are holding out for a fee in the region of €30 million to €35 million. The Turkish club is keen to capitalize on the defender's rapid rise and strong performances since joining from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in January.
West Ham Also Monitoring Situation
Nwaiwu has also attracted interest from fellow Premier League club West Ham United, who are monitoring his situation. The defender has quickly established himself as one of Trabzonspor's key defensive players, with his performances now drawing attention from clubs in England.
