Eneramo died on Friday, April 24, 2026, after collapsing on the pitch during a local match in Kaduna, where he regularly maintained his fitness and ran an academy. According to OwnGoal Nigeria, he slumped in the second half and was rushed to the hospital but died at the entrance.

The Turkish Super Lig champions shared an emotional message on X, quoting the Super Eagles' announcement. The statement read: "We are saddened to hear the passing of Michael Eneramo, who played for multiple clubs in the Turkish Süper Lig. Everyone at Galatasaray SK extends their condolences to his family, friends and the Federation of Nigeria."
Esperance de Tunis Remembers Their Legend
Eneramo spent the majority of his career at Esperance de Tunis, joining from Lobi Stars in 2004. The Tunisian club published a heartfelt tribute, describing him as "one of its most loyal sons" and a symbol of strength and determination. They noted that his name remains tied to the spirit of fighting and true belonging to the club's jersey.
NFF's Acknowledgment
The Nigeria Football Federation also paid tribute, highlighting Eneramo's contribution to the Super Eagles, including his goal against Tunisia during the 2010 World Cup qualifier. Eneramo retired in 2018 after a 14-year career that spanned multiple Turkish clubs and ended at Turk Ocagi Limasol.
