The 2026 WTT Contender Lagos has attracted elite table tennis nations, with Japan, the Republic of Korea, Germany, and France among the top contenders. Scheduled for May 19 to 24 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, the event is part of the 10-tournament WTT Contender Series for 2026, known for its vibrant atmosphere.
Participating Nations and Prize
Beyond the powerhouse nations, players from Denmark, USA, India, Portugal, Romania, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Belgium, Canada, Togo, Netherlands, Ghana, Wales, Egypt, Italy, Chile, Slovenia, and host Nigeria will compete for a share of the $100,000 prize purse over five days.
Tournament Format
The Lagos tournament will feature men's and women's singles (32-player main draw per gender), men's and women's doubles (16 pairs per gender), and mixed doubles (eight pairs). Former champions are expected to return, adding to the event's prestige.
