The 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C clash between Morocco and Scotland is set to take place on June 19 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, United States. This match marks the second group stage game for both teams.
Opening Matches Recap
Scotland secured a 1-0 victory over Haiti in their first match, with captain John McGinn scoring the decisive goal. Meanwhile, Morocco earned a 1-1 draw against Brazil, with Ismael Saibari and Vinicius Jr finding the net for their respective sides.
A win for Scotland would seal their qualification to the next round, while Morocco would remain in contention even with a loss. Later on the same day, Brazil will face Haiti, and a victory for Carlo Ancelotti's side would complicate Haiti's chances of advancing.

Ouahbi Expects a Physical Match
Moroccan head coach Mohamed Ouahbi anticipates a physical contest against Scotland, contrasting with the tactical battle they faced against Brazil. "The Brazil match was tactical, Friday's clash will be physical. The match against Scotland will be different because they are quick with the ball," Ouahbi told FIFA.
"We have prepared the players to be ready. We do not want to keep the same performance we had against Brazil. We want to improve. Every match is difficult in its own way. Internationally, there are no small teams, and our match against Brazil is not an end in itself."
Scotland Happy to Be Underdogs
Scottish head coach Steve Clarke praised the current Moroccan squad, suggesting it is slightly better than the one that reached the semi-finals in 2022. He expressed contentment with being the underdog in this matchup.
"They reached the last four of the last World Cup, and I've got a feeling this Moroccan team is probably slightly better than that," Clarke said. "Sometimes the Scottish psyche, the Scottish mentality is that we're a little bit more comfortable when we're the underdogs."
Morocco's Achraf Hakimi recently released a statement regarding sexual assault charges he faces in a French court for an incident from 2023. The Moroccan national team captain will proceed with legal proceedings.
