Rasaq Muritala Triumphs at ICAN 60th Anniversary Golf Tournament in Lagos
In a display of exceptional skill and determination, Rasaq Muritala emerged victorious at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) 60th anniversary golf tournament held over the weekend at the Ikeja Golf Club. Playing off a Handicap-8, Muritala delivered a stellar performance, grossing a score of 74 for a net score of 66, securing the top spot in the competition.
Top Performers and Winners Across Categories
Muritala expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and organizers for hosting the event, highlighting the significance of the tournament. Following closely behind, Goke Akinboro claimed the position of first runner-up with a net score of 70, while Kehinde Kassim took second place with a net score of 71. Olatinwo Oluyomi and Charles Onwude rounded out the top five in the men's net category with scores of 72 and beyond, respectively.
In the ladies' guest category, perennial winner Chichi Alamu continued her winning streak, securing first place with a net score of 72. She was followed by Shade Opawumi, who scored 75 net, and lady Nta Ekpo in third place. The competition showcased a high level of talent and sportsmanship among participants from across Nigeria.

Oluwaseun Aderibigbe, Chairman of the Planning Committee, expressed immense satisfaction with the turnout and success of the tournament. He noted, "I am very happy to be the chairman of this landmark ICAN 60th Anniversary Golf Tournament. We had a large turnout from across the country, and interestingly, this is expected because golf as a sport shares some interesting qualities with ICAN, especially in areas of integrity."
ICAN President Haruna Yahaya also commented on the alignment between golf and the institute's values, stating, "Golf is a game of precision, integrity, and critical thinking, which resonates with the institute's activity, and it is an internationally acclaimed game for professionals." The event underscored the synergy between sports and professional excellence, celebrating ICAN's six decades of impact.
