The Premier League title race is heading down to the wire as Arsenal and Manchester City are separated by two points on the league table with only two matches remaining in the season.
Manchester City recently defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium to close the gap between them and Arsenal from five points to just two. Phil Foden was instrumental in the victory, assisting Antoine Semenyo and Omar Marmoush for the first two goals in the first half. Rayan Cherki then assisted Savinho in the second half to seal the win.
Arsenal still hold the advantage as they close in on their first Premier League title in 22 years. Mikel Arteta's side control their own destiny and have a straightforward path: win their remaining matches against Burnley and Crystal Palace.
Remaining Fixtures for Arsenal and Man City
Arsenal will face Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Monday, May 18, 2026, before travelling to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on the final day of the season on May 24.
Manchester City will travel to the South Coast to face AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday, May 19, before hosting Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium on the final day.
Before their league games, City have the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday, while Arsenal have the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on May 30.
What Arsenal and Man City Need to Win the Title
Arsenal are in control of their destiny: win both remaining matches and they are champions. For Manchester City to win, they must win their remaining games and hope for a slip-up from Arsenal.
If Arsenal draw one of their remaining matches, both teams would be tied on points, and tiebreakers would apply. According to NBC Sports, three of the five tiebreakers currently favor City: goal difference (43 to 42), goals scored (75 to 68), and head-to-head points (4 to 1). Both teams are tied on head-to-head away goals.
If Arsenal lose one of their remaining games, City would win the title by one point if they win all their matches. However, if Arsenal win both games, City will likely look back at their recent 3-3 draw against Everton as a costly result.
Relegation Battle
While City and Arsenal battle for the title, two London clubs are fighting to avoid relegation. Tottenham Hotspur (38 points) and West Ham (36 points) are in a tight battle with two matches left to avoid joining Burnley and Wolves in the Championship.
Supercomputer Prediction
According to Opta's supercomputer, after Manchester City's win over Crystal Palace, Arsenal have an 85% chance of winning the title, while City have just a 15% chance.
