KingMakers Hosts Game Changers Fest in Abia, Empowering Over 150 Youths

KingMakers, in collaboration with Reach Consulting, successfully organized the Game Changers Fest 2026 in Abia State, providing hands-on training and exposure to more than 150 young Nigerians. This initiative is part of KingMakers' ongoing commitment to youth development and digital inclusion, aiming to connect talent with emerging opportunities in technology, gaming, esports, and digital entrepreneurship.

Expanding Digital Access Across Nigeria

Building on the success of its inaugural edition in Lagos, which engaged over 500 participants, and its support for the Enugu State Tech Festival, the Abia edition reinforces KingMakers' investment in Nigeria's grassroots innovation ecosystem. The event was delivered in partnership with the Abia State Tech Hub to bolster local technological growth and community engagement.

Competitive Categories and Prizes

Participants competed in three key categories reflecting digital economy opportunities: game development for technology skills, esports tournaments for gaming proficiency, and business pitching for entrepreneurial ventures. Each category emphasized essential skills such as creativity, teamwork, and innovation.

In total, nine winners were recognized for their talent and innovative contributions, highlighting the fest's focus on rewarding excellence and fostering competitive spirit.

Insightful Panel Discussion

The event also featured a panel session titled "Is Tech Just for Fun or a Real Opportunity for Young People?" where industry experts discussed strategies for building sustainable careers within the digital economy. This session provided valuable insights into the practical applications of tech skills and the potential for long-term professional growth.

Leadership Perspectives

Gossy Ukanwoke, Managing Director of KingMakers, emphasized the critical role of access in unlocking youth potential. "Across Nigeria, we see young people with talent, ideas, and ambition, but many lack access to the right opportunities. Game Changers Fest was created to bridge that gap by exposing young people to what is possible within the digital economy and giving them the confidence to take the first step," he stated.

He further elaborated on the long-term vision: "We believe that talent is everywhere, and the next generation of innovators can emerge from any community. Our goal is to continue creating pathways that enable young Nigerians to develop relevant skills, explore opportunities, and participate meaningfully in the future of work."

Solomon Nnana, CEO of Reach Consulting, highlighted the importance of the collaboration: "Partnering on Game Changers Fest 2026 has given young people in Abia real access to opportunities in tech, gaming, and entrepreneurship. This is how we build the next generation of innovators."

Future Plans and National Impact

KingMakers announced that the Game Changers Fest is a component of a broader national effort to expand digital access. The organization plans to scale the initiative across additional regions and communities, ensuring more young Nigerians can benefit from similar opportunities. This strategic expansion aims to cultivate a nationwide network of skilled innovators and entrepreneurs, driving economic growth and technological advancement in Nigeria.
