Access Bank & Visa Launch 45-Day Interest-Free Corporate Card for Nigerian Firms
Access Bank, Visa Launch Corporate Card for Nigerian Businesses

In a significant move to empower Nigerian corporations, Access Bank has unveiled a strategic partnership with global digital payments leader, Visa. The collaboration, announced on 14 January 2026, introduces a new Corporate Credit Card solution specifically designed for medium to large enterprises in Nigeria. This initiative aims to transform corporate financial management by providing a dual-purpose tool that enhances working capital and digitises operational spending.

A Dual-Pronged Solution for Financial Efficiency

The newly launched Access Bank Visa Corporate Credit Card is engineered to solve two critical challenges for businesses. Firstly, it acts as a robust working capital solution by offering an interest-free period of up to 45 days. This feature is a game-changer for Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and Corporate Treasurers, enabling them to optimise cash flow dramatically. Organisations can now settle payments to suppliers early without compromising their Days Payables Outstanding (DPO), thereby freeing up essential liquidity to fuel expansion and growth.

Secondly, the card addresses the pressing need for digitised expense management. It allows companies to seamlessly track operational expenses (OPEX) across various categories, including employee travel, entertainment, and organisational procurement for items like fuel, diesel, and office equipment. By issuing cards to designated staff and departments, businesses can effectively move away from inefficient, cash-heavy processes, ensuring greater transparency and control.

Enhanced Governance with Real-Time Spend Visibility

A cornerstone of this partnership is the integration of the Access Bank Visa Spend Clarity web portal and mobile application. This powerful platform provides organisations with granular data and actionable insights into expenses across the entire business. It meticulously records every transaction made with the corporate card, allowing management to monitor spending by specific employees, branches, or departments.

This digital innovation is set to significantly bolster corporate governance by reducing risks associated with fraudulent claims, invoice inflation, and the misrepresentation of personal expenses as business costs. Florence Owuor, Head of Cards Business at Access Bank, emphasised the bank's commitment, stating, "In line with our values of innovation and Passion for Customers, we are pleased to introduce this card designed to deliver both cash-flow efficiency and operational time optimisation. With Visa Spend Clarity, finance teams can manage and monitor corporate expenses in real time, all at the click of a button."

Driving the Digital Economy Forward

Andrew Uaboi, Vice President and Cluster Head for West Africa at Visa, highlighted the partnership's broader vision. "Visa is committed to digitising payments and providing businesses with the tools they need to thrive in a digital economy," he said. "The Access Bank Visa Corporate Credit Card solution brings seamless, accountable, and data-driven expense management to medium and large organisations, helping them make smarter financial decisions."

To ensure Nigerian businesses can fully leverage this innovative solution, Access Bank and Visa have planned a series of monthly webinars over the coming months. These sessions will target Corporate Treasurers and CFOs, delving deeper into the card's value proposition and discussing effective strategies for optimising both organisational expense and working capital management.
