Presidential aide reveals details
The Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Community Engagement in the Northwest, Abdullahi Yakasai, made this known while speaking on Arise TV on Wednesday, May 13. He added that the initiative also includes 20 trucks of fertilizer per state, aimed at bolstering local farming efforts.
“President Tinubu distributed 20 trucks of rice across the 36 states of the federation. Secondly, to cushion the effects of the hardship on farmers, Mr President gave out 20 trucks again to each of the state governments. In my state, for instance, an additional 20 trucks of fertilizer was taken to Kano and distributed to farmers. We can specifically say this government has brought about reduction in the cost of food staples in the market,” Yakasai said.

The aide noted that the distribution has contributed to a reduction in the cost of food staples in markets across the country. The federal government continues to implement measures to alleviate the economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by the administration to address food security and support agricultural productivity nationwide.
