EGO Foundation Empowers 15,000 Oshodi Women with Digital Skills

The EGO Foundation has successfully trained and empowered no fewer than 15,000 women entrepreneurs, traders, artisans, and aspiring business owners in Oshodi. The initiative, delivered through the SheEnabled Project, focused on equipping women with critical skills to enhance financial inclusion, digital literacy, and long-term business sustainability.

Training and Skills Development

The programme provided participants with practical knowledge in financial management, bookkeeping, digital business tools, savings culture, and access to funding opportunities. The simplified training was designed to help beneficiaries improve their businesses, increase household income, build economic resilience, and contribute meaningfully to community and economic development within Lagos State and beyond.

Empowering Women for Economic Growth

Speaking at the conclusion of the exercise, Toluwase Olaniyan, Executive Director of the EGO Foundation, emphasised the importance of empowering women with the tools needed to achieve economic independence and long-term business growth. He explained that women remain key drivers of economic growth and community development.

Looking ahead, the EGO Foundation has set an ambitious goal for the programme. By 2030, it aims to empower 80,000 women quarterly across Africa through comprehensive financial literacy, digital literacy, entrepreneurship development, and economic inclusion programmes designed to create lasting social and economic impact.
