The management of Transcorp Hilton Abuja has officially clarified reports regarding a water supply issue at the hotel, stating that the disruption lasted for only one day and has since been fully resolved. In a statement issued on April 24, the hotel explained that the temporary outage was caused by emergency maintenance works carried out by the Federal Capital Territory Water Board, which commenced on April 14.
Contingency Measures Activated
According to the management, contingency measures were immediately activated to ensure that guests continued to receive uninterrupted service despite the disruption. The statement read: “We confirm that there was a one-day disruption in water supply.” It further noted that alternative arrangements were put in place to maintain operations and guest comfort during the maintenance period.
Dismissing Social Media Claims
The hotel also dismissed circulating social media claims suggesting a prolonged water shortage, describing them as inaccurate. It emphasized that normal water supply was fully restored on April 15 and has remained stable since then, with all facilities operating at full capacity.
The clarification comes amid heightened sensitivity to service disruptions in Abuja’s hospitality sector, where consistent utilities remain a key expectation for both local and international guests. Management reiterated its commitment to maintaining high service standards and thanked guests and stakeholders for their understanding.
The statement was signed by the hotel’s General Manager, Martin Zarybnicky.
