The MTN Foundation has opened the application portal for its 2026 scholarship programs, offering financial support to students in Nigeria's public tertiary institutions. The scholarships are available under three categories: Science and Technology Scholarship (STS), Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS), and a newly introduced category specifically for medical students.
A total of 400 students will be selected as beneficiaries, with each receiving N300,000 annually for up to four years. This amount is intended to cover tuition fees, textbooks, and living expenses. Out of the 400 slots, 100 are reserved exclusively for medical students.
Scholarship Categories and Eligibility
Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)
This category is open to students studying STEM courses in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Applicants must be in 300 level for STEM courses, while medical students must be in 400 level at public universities or teaching hospitals.
Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)
This scholarship is designed for blind students enrolled in Nigerian public tertiary institutions. Applicants must be in 200 or 300 level, except for law students who must be in 300 level due to the five-year program structure.
Medical Students Scholarship (New Category)
This new category is solely for medical students in 400 level at public universities and teaching hospitals. Previously included under the STEM scholarship, medical students now have a dedicated application process for more focused support.
Eligibility Criteria
- STS applicants require a minimum CGPA of 3.0 to 3.5, depending on the institution.
- Blind students must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 to 2.5, depending on the institution.
- Medical students must have a pass or equivalent grade.
- All applicants must be in the eligible course level for their respective category.
Additional Benefits
Beneficiaries will receive annual scholarship renewal until graduation, provided they meet specific academic criteria. They will also gain access to mentoring, career development support, and technical training through the Skill Up initiative, which enhances employability skills.

Interested students can apply through the official MTN Foundation portal. The deadline for applications is May 31, 2026.
