A Nigerian lady, Victoria Ahiamadu, has taken to social media to celebrate the completion of her master’s degree at Harvard Business School in the United States. She shared how she left a well-paying job in Nigeria and relocated to America to start a new chapter in her life. Her story has triggered widespread reactions online, with many congratulating her on her remarkable achievement.
From Covenant University to Harvard
Ahiamadu, who earned a first-class degree in Economics from Covenant University, announced on her LinkedIn page that she graduated from Harvard Business School with Distinction, placing her in the top 10% of her class. Reflecting on her journey, she recalled the long flight from Nigeria to the US in August 2024, filled with doubts about leaving a great job and starting afresh in a new country. Despite the fear, she took the leap and now considers it one of the best decisions she ever made.
“HBS challenged me in many ways. It has sharpened how I think, expanded how I see the world and introduced me to people who will remain a core part of my story in many years to come. Today, I can confidently say that it was all worth it!” she wrote. She expressed gratitude to God, her family, friends, recommenders, and colleagues for their support throughout the journey.
Social Media Reactions
The post attracted numerous comments from social media users. Augustine Chinecherem Okolo commented, “One thing I’m learning is that fear often shows up right before meaningful growth. The ability to act despite uncertainty is what separates staying comfortable from stepping into new levels of possibility and experience.” Another user, Moses Adekunle Sejiro, said, “I love it for you Victoria. Hearty congratulations. From here, Up-Up is the only way.”
