Law Graduate Bags Tech Scholarship After 35 Rejections

Motunrayo Adejuwon, a law graduate from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has been awarded a tech scholarship after facing more than 35 rejections over the past two months. The graduate took to LinkedIn on July 5 to share a screenshot of the acceptance email she received from the scholarship provider, TechCrush, celebrating her persistence and new opportunity.

From Rejections to a Breakthrough

In her LinkedIn post, Adejuwon revealed that she had taken a two-week break from sending out applications before deciding to apply for this particular scholarship. She expressed gratitude to TechCrush for the opportunity and vowed to make the most of it. Her post read: "I got a Scholarship! After 35+ rejections in the last two months, I took two weeks break from sending out applications. Until this scholarship and I thought to give it a shot based on my interest in AI and its advancing technologies. Thank you TechCrush for this opportunity, I will definitely put it to great use."

Fellow Scholars and Inspiring Stories

Chinazaekpere Mary Edeh, another scholarship recipient, shared: "Congratulations Motunrayo Adejuwon. I also got this scholarship too to learn cloud computing and DevOps. Cheers to many more beautiful wins." Godman Dennis Obigho remarked: "This is such an inspiring story. Those 35+ rejections were clearly just setting the stage for this big win. It takes so much courage to keep applying after setbacks, and I am thrilled to see your persistence pay off."

Context of Perseverance

Adejuwon's story echoes that of other Nigerian graduates who have overcome numerous rejections to achieve success. In a related report, a Nigerian man emerged as one of two recipients of a competitive scholarship, and a University of Ibadan student who won over five scholarships graduated with a first-class degree in petroleum engineering despite losing his phone in his first year.
