LASU Student Who Wrote JAMB 4 Times Reveals Why She Rejected UNILAG Admission
LASU Student Rejected UNILAG Admission After JAMB 4 Times

A mass communication student at Lagos State University (LASU) has revealed that she was offered admission to study European Studies (French) at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) but declined it. The young lady, who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) four times, opened up about the heartbreaking reason for rejecting her UNILAG offer.

Background of the Student's Academic Journey

Mojisola Beatrice Olunupe, a LASU mass communication student, shared her touching academic story, detailing why she stayed at home for years and why she turned down the admission UNILAG offered her. In 2019, she completed secondary school as the best graduating female student and aspired to study law at UNILAG, but fate had other plans.

After finishing secondary school in 2019 and emerging as the best graduating female student, Mojisola revealed in a Facebook post on March 5 that she desired to study law at the University of Lagos and was not ready to give up on that dream easily. This caused her to write the UTME four times, but she could not secure her dream course as her scores kept dropping each year.

Why She Rejected UNILAG Admission

At some point, UNILAG offered her admission to study European Studies (French). She initially accepted it but later declined because the school fees increased beyond her means. In her words: "At that time, the school fees were around ₦60,000, which felt manageable. But while processing the admission, the school fees suddenly increased to over ₦200,000. I couldn't afford it. So I had to decline the admission. That moment was heartbreaking. It felt like another door had closed again."

After declining, she continued working and began considering other paths. She almost gave up on university education until her pastor said something that changed her life and helped her secure admission into LASU.
