The Pro-Chancellor of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, has announced that the institution has received full accreditation for seven academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC). This follows an assessment conducted in 2025.
Accredited Programmes
The accredited programmes are medical laboratory science, civil and environmental engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, microbiology, criminology and security studies, and sociology. The NUC, in a correspondence signed by its director of accreditation, confirmed that all programmes presented by the university met its rigorous quality assurance standards.
Assessment Criteria
According to the commission, the assessment covered curriculum content, staffing, infrastructure, library resources, and academic delivery. Full accreditation is the highest status granted by the NUC and is valid for a period of five years.
University Leadership Reaction
Disclosing the development to the university community, the acting vice-chancellor, Prof. Oyesoji Aremu, described the achievement as a major boost to the institution's academic profile and a validation of its commitment to excellence. He stated that the development was made possible through the institution's investment in faculty development, modern laboratory facilities, and continuous curriculum review in alignment with global best practices to facilitate quality higher education.
Aremu further affirmed that Achievers University will not rest on its oars, even as it draws encouragement from this achievement. "I'm excited to inform you that the university has secured full accreditations of the following programmes from the NUC. The news is cheering, and it's a good one to start the new week," he stated.
While congratulating the Governing Council led by the Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, other principal officers, and the entire university community, Aremu urged members of the university community to remain committed to upholding and continually advancing the high standards of excellence for which the institution is renowned.
