LASU Named Most Preferred Institution for Second Year

Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has declared that its emergence as Nigeria's most subscribed institution for the second consecutive year confirms its status as the country's 'University of first choice' and reflects its rapid rise as one of Africa's fastest-growing institutions. The university recorded 84,326 first-choice applications in the latest statistics released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) during its admissions policy meeting.

In a statement shared on its official social media platforms, LASU said the achievement marked the second consecutive year it would emerge as Nigeria's institution of first choice. The institution ranked ahead of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), which recorded 78,240 applications, and Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), with 60,370 applications.

Growing Confidence in LASU

LASU said its continued dominance in the national admission statistics reflected the growing confidence of Nigerian students and parents in the university's academic excellence, stability, innovation, and student-focused administration. The university added that it had steadily transformed into one of the most sought-after universities in the country through strategic investments in teaching, research, infrastructure, digital innovation, and global competitiveness.
