Judith's Emotional Tribute on Social Media

On her TikTok page, @wilfred_ify shared a heartfelt video tribute featuring moments with Nanyah, accompanied by a detailed message about their friendship. Judith described how they first met in April 2024 during auditions for the Amemuso choir, where Nanyah immediately made her feel welcome with her warm personality.

"Dear Ifunanya, I am heartbroken," Judith began her emotional tribute. "I met you for the first time in April 2024 when I came to audition for the Amemuso choir. After rehearsal that day, you came and asked, 'Fine girl, what's your name again?' and I answered Judith."

Discovering Nanyah's Extraordinary Talent

Judith recalled being amazed by Nanyah's vocal abilities during their third rehearsal together. "I never knew what your voice sounded like till my 3rd rehearsal when you auditioned for the role of Pamina," she wrote. "I secretly recorded and showed all my colleagues, I was wowed because you sounded like an angel. I have never heard that kind of voice before."

The friendship deepened over time, with Judith noting Nanyah's exceptional kindness. She shared an incident where Nanyah noticed she didn't have the proper uniform for a Champions League event and immediately offered to help, saying, "You would have asked me; just any time this kind of situation comes, and you don't have the uniform, ask me, after all, we are the same size."

Nanyah's Remarkable Personality and Character

Judith emphasized Nanyah's extraordinary character, describing her as someone with immense talent yet remarkable humility. "Your personality? Chai! I have never seen any human like you," she expressed. "I have never seen any human with such a gift but so calm and humble. I have never seen you react angrily or heard you speak harshly, I am not even exaggerating."

She recounted a personal experience where she had been upset with Nanyah, only to be met with understanding and compassion. "I remember being upset with you once and I had to tell you about it, you kept quiet and listened to me, your reply melted me," Judith shared.

The Final Hours and Lasting Legacy

Judith revealed that even during her final hours, Nanyah maintained her characteristic calmness and peace. "Reading through the messages you dropped in the group during your last hours, so calm and humbling, and I wondered, 'Even in that moment of struggle, you were still peaceful and calm.' Ifunanya, you are strong."

She praised Nanyah's musical abilities, noting how quickly she could learn new songs and her willingness to help others grow. "You treat everyone with respect and regard. God blessed you with an angelic voice, and your passion for music and to do more is top-notch," Judith wrote.

A Friendship That Inspired Growth

Judith credited Nanyah with motivating her to stay in Abuja and pursue her musical dreams. "I nearly left Abuja, but you're my biggest motivation wanting to stay. You made me love this part of music," she confessed.

She also shared how Nanyah had offered to lend her a guitar when she expressed interest in learning the instrument, demonstrating the singer's generous spirit. "You told me that whenever I am ready, I should come and take one of your guitars to learn," Judith recalled.

Coping With the Loss

In her emotional conclusion, Judith expressed the difficulty of processing the loss. "Nothing prepared me for this ugly situation. As Christians, we are not supposed to mourn like people without faith, but this past week, I have been down in my faith and couldn't even pray," she admitted.

She ended with a heartfelt farewell: "Rest in peace, my dear friend. You'll never be forgotten and our memories are here to stay. You'll forever remain my celebrity, and I'll always love you."

The tribute has resonated deeply with fans and the Nigerian music community, highlighting not just Nanyah's talent but the beautiful person she was behind the music. Her legacy continues to inspire those who knew her and those who admired her work from afar.
