Lady Defends Baba Ijesha, Says He Has Served His Sentence
A lady has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing her opinion on the case involving actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha. According to her, the actor has already served his sentence and should be allowed to move on with his life without further public condemnation.
In a video that has gone viral, the lady claimed that some women who continue to criticize Baba Ijesha may have also engaged in inappropriate relationships with underage boys in the past. She stated, "Leave Baba Ijesha alone, he has served his sentence. A lot of these aunties condemning him have also deflowered young boys at their early ages. All my talking stages said to me that bigger area aunties deflowered them when they were young."
The video, shared on Instagram by Linda Ikeji, has drawn mixed reactions from the public. Some supported her stance, arguing that the actor has paid his debt to society, while others condemned her remarks as insensitive and deflecting from the seriousness of the crime.
Baba Ijesha was convicted in 2022 for sexually assaulting a minor and was sentenced to prison. He was released in 2024 after completing his sentence. The case remains a sensitive topic in Nigeria, with many advocating for justice for minors while others call for rehabilitation and second chances.
