A heartbroken lady has gone viral after breaking down over the death of her younger sister, revealing she is struggling to cope with another painful loss. In an emotional video, she shared her grief, saying she lost her father in 2022 and has never fully recovered from that tragedy.
Sudden Loss and Shock
According to the grieving woman, she spoke with her sister on Tuesday, but by Wednesday, the family was informed that her sister had been placed on oxygen. By early Thursday morning, they received the devastating news that she had passed away. Still in shock, the woman said she had never seen malaria claim someone's life, expressing disbelief at how quickly the illness turned fatal.
Family Left Behind
She tearfully revealed that her sister leaves behind five young children, the youngest just months old. The children are now without a mother, adding to the family's sorrow. The woman questioned why tragedy continues to strike her family, as condolences pour in online from friends and strangers alike.
The video, shared on Instagram by Linda Ikeji, has sparked widespread sympathy and discussions about the severity of malaria, which remains a leading cause of death in Nigeria despite being preventable and treatable. According to the World Health Organization, Nigeria accounted for about 27% of global malaria deaths in 2020, with children under five being the most vulnerable.
