Adeboye's Son Leke Reshares Video of Cleric Listing Three Categories of Madness
Leke Adeboye Shares Old Clip of Father Listing Categories of Madness

Pastor Leke Adeboye, one of the sons of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has sparked fresh reactions online after resharing an old video from his father's sermon.

In a post on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, June 2, Leke reshared a clip where Adeboye listed three categories of madness. The video has generated significant discussion on social media, especially amid ongoing criticism against Adeboye and the RCCG over false narratives and the church's response to national issues.

Three Categories of Madness According to Adeboye

During the sermon, Adeboye described the first category as the visible madman on the streets, which he called the lowest and easiest to avoid. The second category, he explained, is the 'dressed-up madman'—someone who is well-dressed, often wealthy or highly educated. He warned that this type is more dangerous because their erratic decisions or greed can cause havoc without people realizing they are unstable.

The third category, according to Adeboye, is the worst form of madness: individuals who obsessively follow or pay attention to a person they know is crazy. This category, he said, is the most dangerous because it involves willful engagement with madness.

Context Behind the Video

The reshared video comes after the RCCG issued a statement dismissing claims that Adeboye called off a planned protest or expressed support for President Bola Tinubu's administration. The church clarified that Adeboye only communicated the instruction of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) regarding an updated plan for the grand finale of a three-day prayer program.

The false narratives had sparked widespread criticism, with many accusing Adeboye of silence on national issues such as insecurity and economic hardship. The video appears to be a response to those critics, as Adeboye's son shared it without additional commentary.

Social Media Reactions

The post has attracted numerous reactions from social media users. Many commented on the relevance of Adeboye's categories to current events.

  • User sobayodare commented: "Category 3 is the one who pays attention to a mad man."
  • daniel_tijesuni_ wrote: "This just shows how great Daddy GO is. The citizens of a whole country are accusing and calling out a man who is not a politician, on why he is not solving problems that require a president, 36 governors, and numerous senators. God bless you Daddy."
  • tpearl_luxuryfloraldecor reacted: "My own concern is, is it only Daddy GO that is a pastor in this country? I know God will fight for us."
  • t_h_o_m_z_y_ commented: "Category 2 is exactly what is going on now."
  • jesutoyosi_dorcas noted: "You can have a PhD and still be mad."
  • de_byde added: "Fully dressed and still mad. A lot of them are on social media. Some are holding offices, married men and women, looking good on the outside but really mad."

Previous Criticism from Spyro

Earlier, singer Spyro had publicly criticized Adeboye and other religious leaders for remaining silent while insecurity and hardship worsen in Nigeria. In a video shared on May 26, Spyro expressed frustration that churches and mosques continue regular services without addressing the alarming state of the nation. He described the silence of religious leaders as deeply troubling.

The reshared video by Leke Adeboye appears to be a indirect response to such criticisms, using his father's own teachings to address the situation.
