The founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has addressed allegations of domestic violence after a video of him went viral. In the clip, a young girl asked whether he beats his wife, prompting a calm and firm response from the cleric.
Olukoya's Response to Allegations
Speaking during an interactive session, Olukoya said: "You are correct. I don't beat my wife. I don't beat my son. I don't beat anybody. But if something is not right, we sit down and talk." He emphasized that violence in the home is unacceptable, adding: "If your dad is shouting at your mom and beating your mom, it's wrong. If you hit your mom and shout at her, it's wrong. It's not right."
The young girl also asked how he handles pressure from friends. Olukoya replied that he simply ignores or walks away and prays in the Holy Spirit. The video sparked widespread reactions online.
Clarification on 'Die by Fire' Prayer
In a related development, Olukoya offered an explanation of the "Die by Fire" prayer associated with MFM. He said the phrase has often been misunderstood and is not a literal expression of violence but a spiritual declaration against forces believed to obstruct progress. "'Die by Fire' is a command for divine judgment against the works of darkness and a release of heaven's power to enforce freedom," he explained.
The cleric stressed that the prayer must be approached with spiritual understanding and personal holiness. He described it as a tool for deliverance and restoration, rooted in biblical teachings on spiritual warfare.
Prophetic Warnings for 2026
Earlier, Olukoya released prophecies warning that 2026 would be a fast-paced and spiritually demanding year. He urged nations and individuals to pursue righteousness to avoid disorder and calamity. The message was delivered during a crossover service at the church's Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
