Ademola, a 31-year-old Nigerian immigrant living in Canada, known as Dee, had given up his dream of attending the FIFA World Cup due to high ticket costs. He chose to pay his rent instead. However, a content creator named NK (@neenib) surprised him with a free ticket after he participated in a soccer challenge on a harbour boardwalk.
Dream Fulfilled for Lonely Nigerian in Canada
Ademola met NK, who was challenging passersby to kick a ball into a miniature net. After scoring the shot, Ademola shared his migration story, describing the loneliness of moving to a new continent without his family. He said: "The first period when I came, it was mad lonely because I have no family here. Moving to a new town is hard, try moving to a new continent."
When asked about his World Cup plans, Ademola explained that the ticket prices were almost the same as his rent, forcing him to choose between football and survival. He said: "They were almost the same price as my rent. And I'm like... World Cup, rent, World Cup, rent? Rent is more important."
Surprise Gift and Emotional Reaction
NK then revealed a surprise video message showing that Ademola had received a free stadium ticket. Overwhelmed with emotion, Ademola broke down in disbelief. The clip ended with him celebrating live at the Canada vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina match on June 12, 2026. He shared his joy: "Off my bucket list... I never thought I would be at a World Cup game. This means the world to me. I love Canada so much."
