Food critic Opeyemi Famakin has responded sharply to content creator Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, after a side comment made during a dining session with businessman E-Money and singer Kcee.
Background of the Incident
Carter Efe was seen enjoying a meal with E-Money and his brother Kcee following his boxing victory over Portable. While eating, E-Money teased Famakin about his fork-holding technique, suggesting that Famakin should observe his own method before criticizing others. In response, Carter Efe remarked, "That is how poor people do."
Famakin's Reaction
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Famakin blasted Carter Efe and accused him of having body odor. He claimed his statement was accurate and challenged Carter Efe to meet him for a special gift. Famakin then produced a bottle of Amante Nocturno perfume, valued at N45,000, and offered it to Carter Efe free of charge.
Famakin warned the skit maker not to involve himself in conversations that did not concern him, adding humorously that he could "beat him up." He also described E-Money as the richest man at the table and noted that he was using only a fork to eat his rice.
Educational Correction
Famakin explained that his earlier correction was purely educational. He stated that rice should be eaten with only a fork, not a combination of fork and knife. Both utensils are appropriate for protein, he added. The food critic also praised E-Money's wealth while promoting a product during the recording.
This incident follows a previous exchange where Famakin corrected Kcee's cutlery technique in a video of the singer eating on a plane.
Public Reaction
Netizens have reacted to Famakin's comments, with many sharing their views on the exchange. Some supported Famakin's stance, while others criticized his approach.
In a related development, Famakin recently raised concerns about threats from Cubana Chiefpriest after reviewing his restaurant in Imo State. He alleged that Chiefpriest sent him a threatening direct message while posting a different public comment.
