The Trendupp Awards have officially launched nominations for their sixth edition, introducing a new Force of Streaming category while continuing to honor Africa's most influential content creators and digital innovators. Since its inception in 2021, the awards have grown into a Pan-African movement, recognizing audacious influencers who use social media for influence, innovation, and change.
Sixth Edition Marks New Journey
Tiwalola Olanubi, Founder and CEO of Trendupp Africa, stated that the sixth edition signifies the beginning of a new journey. Plans have been rolled out to double the impact in celebrating African digital creativity. Over the past five years, the platform has received more than 487,000 nominations across 17 categories, recognizing 486 nominees and honoring 81 forces.
New Category: Force of Streaming
This year introduces the Force of Streaming category to recognize influencers and content creators who command the highest engagement and virality through streaming. This addition demonstrates the awards' commitment to evolving with the digital space and formally recognizing the growing trend of live streaming.
Nomination Details
Nominations are open for the period between March 2025 and March 2026. Categories include Force of TikTok, Force of Lifestyle Content, Force of Creative Arts, Force of Instagram, Force of X (formerly Twitter), Force of Virality, Force of Online Sensation, Force of Food Content, Force of Comedy Skits, Force of YouTube, Force of Tech Content, Force of The Pod, Force of Social Good, Force of Wellness, Force of Streaming, Emerging Force, Force of Influence (Nigeria), and Force of Influence (International).
Selection Process
The Trendupp Awards use a no-vote selection process. Winners will be chosen by the 2026 Judging Council, composed of highly reputable industry leaders, ensuring a fair selection that honors the most deserving influencers and content creators.
