The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has extended his congratulations to independent petroleum marketer Otunba Salimon Oladiti on his election as President of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG). In a statement released on Tuesday, the monarch described Oladiti's emergence as "most welcome and heartwarming at this period in Nigeria's history," emphasizing that his vast experience in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry positions him for effective leadership.
Leadership Endorsement
Oba Ladoja, who also serves as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, stated that the new NUPENG president possesses the capacity to deliver purposeful direction for the union. According to him, Oladiti, popularly known as SAO, is a focused and committed individual who has paid his dues and is well equipped to provide the leadership the union requires at this critical time.
Commendation for Smooth Transition
In a statement signed by Adeola Oloko, Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the monarch also commended the union for ensuring a smooth transition of leadership. He described the process as exemplary and worthy of emulation, particularly among political actors in the country.
