Prof. Dayo Faduyile, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election, has expressed strong confidence in securing a landslide victory at the polls. Speaking after casting his vote at Ward 6 Unit 5, Ode Ikoya LA Primary School in Okitipupa Local Council Area, Faduyile shared his optimism based on early assessments from various polling units across the district.
Positive Assessment of Voting Process
Faduyile commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely arrival of election materials and praised the peaceful conduct of voters. “The assessment is a great one. We have received a lot of information from many polling units, and it has been very favorable. INEC staff reported promptly at their duty posts,” he stated. He noted the absence of any security breaches and the large turnout of voters exercising their franchise. “We are very positive that we are going to have a very good election,” he added.
Security Situation Commended
The APC candidate also lauded security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), for their visible presence and professionalism. “The security situation in this part of the state has been peaceful. I do not expect any security breach. The people love each other irrespective of political divide, and there are no areas of concern so far,” Faduyile said. He credited security personnel for maintaining order at polling units.
Promise of Inclusive Representation
Faduyile assured constituents of inclusive and innovative representation if elected. “My message to the people of the Southern Senatorial District is that this election will produce a new representative in the Senate. We are committed to participatory democracy. We will engage the people, listen to them, and ensure they are well represented,” he declared. He expressed gratitude to voters for their massive turnout and reiterated his belief that the majority of votes would go to him as their preferred candidate.
