Primate Ayodele Predicts 8 APC Governors Will Oppose Tinubu, Major Defection to ADC
Ayodele: 8 APC Governors to Work Against Tinubu in 2027

Ahead of the crucial 2027 general elections, prominent cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued a series of political prophecies, forecasting significant internal opposition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu within his own party.

Eight Governors to Work Against APC

In a statement released on Friday, January 9, 2026, and signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church made a striking prediction. He stated that approximately eight governors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will work against President Tinubu and the party's interests as the next election cycle approaches.

Primate Ayodele, who is based in the Oke Afa area of Lagos State, clarified that these governors could employ two strategies. "I see about eight governors working against APC ahead of 2027," he said. "It’s either they stay in the party to work against the party or move to an opposition party."

He further warned that President Tinubu should prepare for a challenging electoral battle. "President Tinubu will not find it easy in the election. There are so many things around him that look real, but they are not. They will soon start getting uncovered, so he has to prepare," the cleric advised.

A Major Political Defection Looms

Beyond the predicted internal rebellion, Primate Ayodele also foreshadowed a major realignment in the opposition landscape. He prophesied that a prominent figure in Nigerian politics will soon defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move he claims will send shockwaves through the country's political scene.

"I am seeing a big name decamping to the ADC very soon," Ayodele disclosed. "It will be a shocker to people and the political scene of the country. It will happen very, very soon."

The ADC, which counts former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi among its notable members, has positioned itself as a coalition representing a new political future for Nigeria. The party has previously framed the 2027 elections as a contest between the citizens and the APC, urging opposition governors to present fresh ideas.

Context and Previous Prophecies

Primate Elijah Ayodele is widely known for issuing prophecies on diverse subjects, including Nigerian and global politics, the economy, security, and sports. His latest predictions add to a series of political forecasts he has made concerning the 2027 election and the Tinubu administration.

This news comes shortly after the cleric publicly denied allegations from Bayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power. Adelabu, an APC chieftain, had accused Ayodele of attempting to extort N150 million from him for spiritual intercession to become governor of Oyo State. Ayodele, through his aide, refuted the claim, stating he had only requested the minister to purchase trumpets for his church.

As the political atmosphere begins to heat up in anticipation of the 2027 polls, such prophecies from influential figures often contribute to the national discourse, shaping perceptions and strategies within the complex arena of Nigerian politics.
