She was first appointed on September 2, 2021. Under her leadership, the National Library has undergone several institutional reforms aimed at transforming it into a modern, technology-driven knowledge institution. Key achievements include the development and operationalization of the National Repository of Nigeria, the Newspaper and Magazine Locator, the Index and Abstract to Nigerian Newspapers, and the National Virtual Library of Nigeria. She has also played a strategic role in advancing the completion of the National Library Headquarters project and initiating plans to migrate heritage collections from 34 state branches to the new headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President expects that the renewal of her tenure will ensure continuity in implementing ongoing reforms, completing the National Library Headquarters project, and executing the institution’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.
