BAT 4/4 Backs Tinubu's Re-election, Urges Community Security

The Director-General of the BAT 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda, Elder Daniel Ohiomoba, on Monday expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election prospects. The support group leader also called for greater community participation in addressing insecurity, stressing that security should not be viewed as the sole responsibility of the Federal Government.

Press Briefing in Abuja

Ohiomoba made this known during a press briefing in Abuja, where he cited the group's nationwide grassroots network and growing support for the administration's reform agenda. He reaffirmed the commitment of the BAT 4/4 Europe Agenda, a political support and pressure group registered with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and affiliated with the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), to the success of the President's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Grassroots Mobilization Since 2022

According to him, the group has been actively mobilising support for President Tinubu since 2022 and has built structures extending to ward levels across the country. He noted that despite the challenges associated with ongoing reforms, the administration's policies were designed to place Nigeria on a path of sustainable growth and prosperity.

Ohiomoba said: "Our membership cuts across the country, reaching down to ward levels nationwide. We are confident that our support, alongside the efforts of other support groups and the achievements of the President, will contribute significantly to his success in the next election.

"We remain optimistic because we understand the vision and policies of President Tinubu. While the reforms may be difficult in the short term, Nigerians will ultimately benefit from them. There is no surgery without some pain. President Tinubu is fixing Nigeria and he is doing so with determination and courage."

Economic Reforms Yielding Results

Ohiomoba maintained that the administration's policies were beginning to produce positive outcomes, pointing to improvements in exchange-rate stability and broader economic indicators. He described the removal of fuel subsidy as a courageous but necessary decision that previous administrations had been reluctant to implement.

He added: "The President has done a great deal in stabilising the economy. Economic reforms are beginning to yield results. The exchange rate has become more stable, and the economy is gradually strengthening. No nation achieves sustainable success overnight; every country must pass through periods of adjustment and sacrifice.

"We are fortunate to have a leader with the courage, capacity and experience to make difficult decisions. Though challenging initially, the removal of fuel subsidy was necessary for Nigeria's long-term economic health.

"The numbers speak for themselves. Our BAT 4/4 Europe Agenda structure spans all 774 local government areas of the country. We have millions of members and supporters, as well as polling-unit marshals across Nigeria. Based on our grassroots presence and mobilisation efforts, we are confident of delivering victory for President Tinubu."

Addressing Inflation and Transportation Costs

Responding to concerns over rising transportation costs and inflation, he attributed part of the economic pressure to global developments, including international conflicts and disruptions in energy supply chains.

Ohiomoba commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for ongoing infrastructural development in Abuja. "The transformation taking place in the FCT is visible for everyone to see. Road networks are expanding, infrastructure is improving and Abuja is opening up in ways not witnessed before. These developments reinforce our belief that Nigeria's future is bright," he said.

Women Leader Highlights Reform Benefits

In her remarks, the Southeast Zonal Women Leader of the BAT 4/4 Agenda, Mrs. Prisca Chinonso, argued that Nigeria's economic situation would have been more severe without the reforms introduced by the current administration.

Chinonso said: "The economic reforms introduced by President Tinubu have helped address many of the challenges inherited by the administration. From subsidy removal to exchange-rate reforms, the government has taken bold steps aimed at stabilising the economy."

According to her, the administration's policies have encouraged investments in local refining and provided support for both conventional and modular refineries, helping to cushion the impact of rising global fuel prices.

She highlighted major infrastructure projects being executed by the Federal Government, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, railway modernisation initiatives and improvements in healthcare infrastructure.

Chinonso further noted that the administration had sanitised the national social register to ensure that support reached genuinely vulnerable Nigerians.

Patron Expresses Confidence

Also speaking, the Patron of the BAT 4/4 Renewed Hope Agenda, Yusuf Wayo, expressed confidence in President Tinubu's leadership and ability to deliver on his promises.

Wayo said: "President Tinubu is a strategist and a goal-oriented leader. Throughout his political career, he has demonstrated an ability to achieve results. We believe in his economic vision and are confident that he will continue to deliver on his promises."

He pledged the continued support of members of the group and allied organisations toward the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Wayo urged Nigerians to support the administration's reform programmes, describing constructive engagement and patriotism as essential ingredients for national development. He also praised members of the Federal Executive Council for their contributions to the government's development agenda and called on citizens to support ongoing reforms aimed at transforming the country.
