Former Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has made a scathing assessment of President Bola Tinubu's prospects in the 2027 presidential election, describing him as the most unserious presidential candidate. Dalung made these remarks during an interview with media personality Seun Okinbaloye.
Dalung's Critique of Tinubu
According to Dalung, President Tinubu's supporters constitute less than 14 percent of the Nigerian population. He stated, "I don't see Tinubu as serious as you are presenting him. President Tinubu in 2027 is the most unserious person with all his strategies because he is underestimating the combustion that is coming with his party."
Dalung further alleged that Tinubu has been shielded from reality, living in a world of his own and being fed fabricated support on social media. He emphasized, "Tinubu's support, if I will be very sincere, is not up to 14 percent in Nigeria. Let's take the States, can you show me where Tinubu will win? There is none."
Predictions for Lagos and Beyond
The former minister predicted that Lagos State would become a battle zone among the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Democratic Coalition (NDC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He claimed that Tinubu was defeated in 2023 and will face an even worse defeat in 2027. "He will be defeated worse than what happened in 2023 because Tinubu doesn't learn any lessons. If he learnt lessons, he should have known that allowing insecurity, hunger, and frustration to fester is designing your political grave as a politician," Dalung concluded.
