Senator Brambaifa breathed his last on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at a hospital in the nation's capital, Abuja. His death marks another painful chapter for Bayelsa, which is still reeling from a previous tragic loss in its leadership ranks.

Governor Douye Diri expressed profound sadness over the demise, describing the late senator as an illustrious son of the state. In a condolence message delivered on behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa, Governor Diri praised Brambaifa's significant contributions.

Recall that the deputy governor died in December after he reportedly slumped at his office in the Government House. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa but unfortunately succumbed. The state government had declared a period of mourning following that incident, which was described with “deep regret and profound shock.”
