President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abdulrazak Sa'ad Namdas as the new director-general of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), while Patrick Obahiagbon and Chukwuma Michael Umeoji have been named executive directors at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), according to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Friday, June 26.
Namdas Takes Over BCDA
Namdas, a former member of the House of Representatives representing Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo federal constituency of Adamawa State, replaces Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned to contest for an elective post in his home state. Namdas served as spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives and was an aspirant in the just-concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State. He previously worked as chief press secretary to former Governor Boni Haruna of Adamawa State and is a seasoned journalist and public relations practitioner.
Obahiagbon Joins NDPHC
Patrick Obahiagbon, a 66-year-old former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly, has been appointed as executive director, strategy and commercial, of the NDPHC. He replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned to pursue his political aspiration in his home state. Obahiagbon is known for his eloquent speeches and extensive vocabulary in social and political commentary.
Umeoji Reappointed
Chukwuma Umeoji, a former federal House of Representatives member representing Aguata federal constituency of Anambra State in the 9th National Assembly, has been reappointed as executive director, corporate services, of the NDPHC. He had resigned earlier to pursue his political ambition in his home state. The presidency confirmed that all appointments are effective immediately.
The appointments were announced in a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, who serves as a special adviser to the president on information and strategy. The statement did not provide further details on the terms of the appointments.
