President Bola Tinubu on Thursday swore in four new Permanent Secretaries and a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the State House, Abuja.
The brief ceremony took place shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, with all appointees taking their oaths of office in a single batch before signing the official register.
New Appointees
Those inaugurated as Permanent Secretaries are Mrs. Warrens Bekearedebo Augusta (Bayelsa), Dr. Ayinde Shoretire (Ogun), Mallam Aminu Sani Yargaya (Kano), and Mrs. Nkiruka Bella Jones-Nebo (Enugu). Also sworn in was Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Malafa (rtd) as INEC National Commissioner, representing Adamawa State.
Ceremony Details
The ceremony, coordinated by the State House Director of Media and Publicity, Abiodun Oladunjoye, was attended by senior government officials and members of the FEC.
Among those present were Vice President Kashim Shettima; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
Other cabinet members in attendance included the Minister of Finance, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; and Minister of Housing, Arc. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, among others.
