A tragic murder-suicide has claimed the lives of a young Pennsylvania couple who were high school sweethearts and married less than two years ago. Ryan Hosso, 26, fatally shot his wife, 25-year-old physician assistant Madeline Spatafore, inside their home in Butler, Pennsylvania, early Tuesday morning. He then fled into nearby woods and turned the gun on himself, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Details of the Incident
Hosso called his parents after killing Spatafore, confessing to the murder and threatening to take his own life. His parents reported his erratic behavior to authorities around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found Spatafore dead inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. Hosso's body was located in the woods using thermal drones, and he had a single gunshot wound, police said.

Ryan Hosso and Madeline Spatafore were high school sweethearts who both graduated from Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, Pennsylvania, just 10 miles from their home in Seven Fields, a borough of Butler. The couple married in Ohio in September 2024, according to their wedding registry.
