A resident who confirmed the incident to Hope Newspaper on Sunday, March 1, stated that the event took place last Wednesday. The source revealed that there was active electricity supply at the time, which contributed to the fatal outcome. "The suspect was electrocuted in the process, as the high-voltage current from the installation proved fatal. He died instantly," the source explained. Following the incident, officials from the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) were alerted and later arrived at the scene to evacuate the body.
