Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1, Joint Task Force South-South, Operation DELTA SAFE have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a coordinated raid operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Details of the Operation

The operation was carried out on 4 June 2026 following credible intelligence on the possible concealment of weapons within the area. Acting swiftly on the information, the troops stormed an abandoned police station in Ibusa community, where the arms and motorcycles were discovered hidden within the premises.

Ongoing Efforts Against Crime

Security sources said the recovery is part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on criminal networks and reduce the circulation of illegal weapons in the state. Reacting to the success of the operation, the Commander of 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their discipline, speed, and professionalism. He urged them to maintain the operational tempo and continue sustaining pressure on criminal elements across Delta State and its environs.
