The abductors of Mrs. Busayo John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power and 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, have yet to make contact with the family, according to an aide.
Femi Awogboro, an aide to the former minister, disclosed that the family remains in distress as the kidnappers have not reached out since the abduction occurred. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 3, in the Challenge area of Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state, where unknown gunmen seized the 12-year-old twin boys and their mother.
In a conversation with The Nation, Awogboro stated, “We are still searching, security agencies are still on it and they have promised safe return of the victims. Since yesterday, the family is unsettled. The victim’s husband, who is not in Nigeria, is not happy at all, but he said he believes that security agencies in Nigeria are capable of securing the release of his wife and children.”
Awogboro appealed to the Police and other security agencies to intensify their efforts to ensure the timely release of the victims. He emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for swift action to reunite the family.
